COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is an introductory class for the core focal points of two-dimensional Visual Arts. Students will have the opportunity for class lectures, teaching demonstrations, class discussions, and project critiques with limitless online art resources, multi-media options, and the chance to find their own unique Visual Art style. They will learn about and practice the visual art foundations of drawing and painting through formal explorations, technical methodologies, conceptual executions, and historical and contemporary artist influences.
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Learn about 3-D Visual Art skills in addition to continuing learned 2-D Visual Art skills through a virtual artistic and educational platform
Embrace multi-media forms of drawing, painting, collage, and/or graphic design
Experiment with and discover new ways of self expression
Refine the visual skills needed to convey concepts
Interpret historic and contemporary references and their relevance
Evaluate and positively celebrate personal work and peer’s work through critique
