Doug Levine

Mr. Levine is a pianist, composer, arranger, music director and teacher based in his hometown of Pittsburgh. With over twenty years experience as a music and vocal director, he has worked for companies including the Playhouse Conservatory Company, City Theater, University of Pittsburgh Theater, Pittsburgh Musical Theater, The Hanger Theater and the Alumni Theater Company. An active composer for theater and dance, 2015 saw the Microscopic Opera Company’s world premiere of his chamber opera, Mercy Train, written with librettist, Julie Tosh. He has written original music or arrangements for companies including Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Playhouse REP, Attack Theatre, Pennsylvania Dance Theatre, Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, Pittsburgh International Children’s Theater Festival, Dreams of Hope, Gateway to the Arts and the Renaissance City Women’s Choir. Mr. Levine has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and Point Park University, and holds degrees from Bucknell and Carnegie Mellon Universities. www.levinemusic.com.
